The makers of Newforma Project Center visited JM Coull’s construction site in Billerica earlier this month to see their Construction Suite product at work in the field and gather information for its future development. JM Coull is one of the early construction management firms to use the software, which has been popular in the architectural and engineering community.
“Our new Construction Suite supports project management from planning and preconstruction all the way through closeout,” said Dan Conery, vice president of construction solution at Newforma. “We wanted to get into the field and see how the product was being used. JM Coull has embraced the technology and is giving us tremendous insight into ways in which we can make it even better for our users.”
JM Coull is known for comprehensive preconstruction services, and Newforma has been an important part of the company’s StartSmartTM program. Use of the software throughout construction and in managing the closeout process was a natural progression for a company that looks to leading-edge technology in its continuing efforts to improve performance, according to JM Coull president Andrew Coull.
“The majority of JM Coull’s work is construction management and design build, in which we are managing the project from concept to owner occupancy. We were happy to find a product that helps us link all of the pieces in a logical way and adapts to suit our needs throughout the process. We were pleased when Newforma contacted us about a field demonstration of how we’re using the software. It gave us an opportunity to offer input for future changes and to get situation-specific information from Newforma about making the most of this management tool.”
